I am Katy Hardin, and I am a fine art painter living in Salado, TX. I have always had a love for anything creative and began painting as a way to manage anxiety and find calm in a brain that is never quiet. Creating and making a mess allowed me to embrace the freedom of the intuitive brushstroke and stay present in the moment. My paintings are an expression of my curiosity and passion for creating beautiful pieces that are accentuated with rich texture and color. As a mixed media artist and painter, I aspire to create pieces that evoke emotion, inspire, and form connections with my audience. Each piece tells a unique story, and it is my goal to convey the narrative through the use of color, texture, and composition. My passion for creating art has driven me to experiment with different techniques and mediums, resulting in a varied and distinctive collection of works.

Alongside painting, I've developed a deep passion for quilting, sewing, and collecting vintage textiles. Over time, textiles became an integral part of my process, and I began incorporating collage, stitching, and fabric into my artwork. I've also added new pieces to my portfolio that are made exclusively from textiles. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share my love of fabric with students by teaching my process and guiding others in discovering the joy of mixing fabric, paint, and thread to create something uniquely their own.
